The inspiration for SS21 takes place on a bright summers day by the sea. The glimmering reflection of light on the water, waves dancing and creating this ever changing fluid motion. The mysteries of the life under the ocean. Holding in itself a story waiting to be untold.
Colours reflecting the ocean side have been carefully selected to recreate the feeling of that day. Bright yellow and orange showing the sunshine, with shades of blue, as the ocean, and earthy beiges and browns depicting the land, all working together in harmony.
Fluid lines and shapes with wave like motion have been laser cut into an intricate lace like pattern. This shows a constant sense of movement as seen by the water. This breaths new life into traditional silhouettes, while, celebrating the female form.
The garments are dapped on the female dress form as a start, from which patterns are made and scanned. These patterns are imported into Clo3D, where they are digitally sewn and draped in 3D rendering, and further developed to make a collection. All the final garments are made digitally in Clo3D. The patterns are extracted via a laser cutter to be sewn into real life, with remark- able precession from design to reality.
