The Golden Touch.
The Golden Touch collection is inspired by King Midas
from the greek mythology. His touching ability of turning
everything into gold, become a curse, when his daughter
turns into gold. The idea of turning things into gold, lead
the details, and lines on the sketches, into gold leaf gilding
print: the traditional Japanese craftmanship, also known
as Kinsai kako. The gold leaf were used for showing the
lord’s riches, and his influence. The collection focuses on
the differences in statuS in our society. A society full of
insecurities, which promote the survival of the fittest. A
world, where the rich gets richer, and the poor gets poorer.
The illution of being rich, yet poor. This is a story about a
girl, who likes things containing value. Therefore, she likes
to wear her assets, and put her money where her mouth is.
The kinsai kako craftmanship is used to potrait the confusion
between a rich and a poor.
